2-DAY SAFARI IN TANZANIA:
LAKE MANYARA, NGORONGORO CRATER
Day 1: Moshi/Arusha – Lake Manyara
Departure: After meeting your professional tour guide in either Moshi or Arusha, you’ll receive a brief introduction to the safari experience, including an overview of the itinerary, safety tips, and wildlife you might encounter.
Travel to Lake Manyara: From there, you’ll travel to Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s most picturesque and biologically diverse parks. The journey offers scenic views of the countryside and Great Rift Valley.
Arrival & Lunch: You’ll arrive at your lodge in time for a delicious lunch with views of the stunning landscape. Your accommodation will vary depending on the package, from basic lodges to luxurious safari tents.
Afternoon Game Drive: After lunch, it’s time for your first game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. This park is famous for its diverse wildlife and breathtaking setting. The park is home to the remarkable tree-climbing lions, which are a rare and fascinating sight. You may also spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and an abundance of birdlife, including flamingos feeding at the soda lake. The landscape is equally mesmerizing, with the shimmering lake bordered by the towering escarpment of the Great Rift Valley.
Dinner & Overnight: After an exhilarating game drive, you’ll return to your lodge or camp for a well-deserved dinner. Your accommodation will offer a restful night in the heart of nature.
Day 2: Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater – Moshi/Arusha
Morning Game Drive in Lake Manyara: For an early start, you can head out for a final morning game drive in Lake Manyara, giving you another chance to witness the park’s unique wildlife in the soft light of dawn.
Travel to Ngorongoro Crater: After breakfast, you’ll head to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. It is often referred to as “Africa’s Garden of Eden” due to its incredible wildlife and stunning landscape.
Descend into the Crater: The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera, and the descent into its floor is an awe-inspiring experience. The crater is home to an impressive array of wildlife, including the endangered black rhino, lions, elephants, buffalos, and cheetahs. It also hosts hundreds of bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers.
Game Drive in the Crater: Spend several hours exploring the crater floor, observing the animals in their natural environment. The rich biodiversity and the close-up views of wildlife make this experience unforgettable.
Lunch in the Crater: Depending on the day’s schedule, you may enjoy a picnic lunch within the crater, surrounded by the vast plains and towering crater walls.
Return to Moshi/Arusha: After the game drive, you’ll ascend the crater and begin your journey back to Moshi or Arusha, where your safari adventure ends.
